a self-taught artist who has worked in many mediums over the years. Pencil, pen & ink, airbrushing, glass etching and over the last 6 years… focusing on jewelry and home accent items.
There is a background music playing a continuous stream of ideas. A completely new idea, an innovation to improve a process or another way to build a piece – all of which can be brought about by an emotion, a vision or an action.
My designs are influenced Frank Lloyd Wright, Salavdor Dali and M.C. Escher. Following Wright I construct small pieces of architecture for jewelry mounts and findings, Dali brings out an unexpected combination of materials and colors and Escher’s repetitive mode to fabricate a continuous design.
Petoskey stones have been a focal point for many creations. Petoskeys are fascinating fossils with distinct patterns that were formed over 350 million years ago and are exclusive to the shores of northern Michigan. I love combining them with the shine of sterling, a sparkle of crystals and other accouterments to bring them back to life.
My one-of-a-kind pieces are more than simply decoration. They are destined to be an extension of an individual’s personal essence and style. I have a steady passion for creating the unexpected to accent your body or your home.
I began in Grand Rapids and moved to Traverse City, Michigan in 1996. Traverse City is very near the 45th parallel which has a mystical quality that has drawn many artists to the area.
After moving to Florida in early 2010, I love being close to the ocean, the beach and discovering new inspirations.
My background includes winning several awards, donating to many charities and participating in numerous art festivals and events along with several Internet stores and communities. I am a member of the Vero Beach Art Museum and the Vero Beach Art Club.
My work is displayed for sale in Suttons Bay, Michigan - Venice Beach, California and Vero Beach, Florida.
